Israel settler group depicts EU envoy as cannibal in video
An Israeli settler group has made a video depicting the European Union's ambassador to Israel as a cannibal and serial killer for providing housing aid to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

The group entitled “Jerusalem Periphery Forum,” posted the video on its Facebook page on Sunday, accusing Ambassador Lars Faaborg-Andersen of undermining Israel’s “sovereignty.”
The video shows the ambassador as the psychopathic cannibal from the film “the Silence of the Lambs,” wearing the mask made famous by Hannibal Lecter.
It calls for an end to the EU’s housing assistance to Palestinian and Bedouin encampments along Highway 1, which passes through the occupied West Bank.
“Lars Faaborg-Andersen undermines Israeli sovereignty and ignores Israeli law,” the video says in text. “He is behind the illegal construction near Highway 1 in order to create facts on the ground, territorial continuity for a future terrorist state.”
The Israeli regime considers such EU-funded construction illegal.
It has demolished as many as 104 such homes in 2016, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The regime's foreign ministry, however, denounced the video.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said in a statement that Israel's “director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dore Gold condemns the disrespectful treatment of the European Union ambassador.”
Israeli authorities have been carrying out forced evacuations against Bedouins since 1949. The demolition is part of the regime’s massive land-grab policy, which will forcefully displace thousands of people.
The regime has so far refused to recognize the rights of Palestinian Bedouins and denies them access to basic services.
Human rights groups say the policy will lead to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians living there.
