Winners of women section of Iran Nat’l Quran contest awarded

The 40th edition of Iran’s national Quran competition came to a close in the northwestern city of Oroumiyeh.



Winners of the women’s section of the contest in different categories, according to Iqna,  were awarded at the ceremony, which was attended by the head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization- the organizer of the event, and a number of other Quranic, religious, and cultural officials.

The competition’s panel of judges introduced Farzaneh Kolali from Khorasan Razavi province as the winner of the Tarteel recitation category.

In Tahqiq recitation, Fatemeh Rahmdar from Qom bagged the first prize and in memorization of the entire Quran, Maryam Shafiei from Ilam came first.

More than 400 women competed in the national Quranic event from September 10 to 16.
The men’s section, which was attended by some 500 individuals, was held a week earlier.

The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization holds the annual Quranic event with the aim of identifying the country’s Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities.
