Ramallah street named after slain journalist Shireen Abu Akleh

A street in the central West Bank city of Ramallah has been named after the Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh murdered by Israeli forces in Jenin.

Shireen Abu Akleh was one of the experienced Palestinian journalists with Al Jazeerah who was killed on May 11 while covering the Israeli army raids in the occupied West Bank, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
A recent UN investigation has revealed that the bullet which killed veteran Al Jazeerah journalist was fired by Israeli forces.
 
Thousands of Palestinians attended her funeral officially held at the headquarter of the Palestinian Authority.
 
Israeli forces attacked the participants at the ceremony while carrying her coffin out of the hospital in Jerusalem al-Quds.
 
Shireen Abu Akleh (1971-2022) was an American-Palestinian journalist working with Arabic language Al Jazeerah channel. He was one of the active journalists covering the news on Palestine who was shot in the head by an Israeli troop on May 11 while covering the news on Tel Aviv forces’ raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.
