Iraqi cleric:

Muslim youths fed with poisonous thoughts called modernity

Prominent Iraqi cleric warned against enemies’ efforts to spread poisonous thoughts among Muslim youths under the pretext of modernity.


Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ali Bahsoun, representative of Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Najafi in Lebanon and Syria, met with Sheikh Ahmad Badr-eddin Hasoun, top Syrian Mufti warning against poisonous thoughts with which Muslim youths are fed under the name of modernity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The clerics in this meeting discussed the latest situation in the world of Islam expressing concern over expansion of clashes in Muslim countries.
 
Syrian Mufti in this meeting expressed gratitude for the endeavors of jurisprudents for boosting unity among Muslims and called for expansion of ties between Muslims and followers of other religions.
 
Iraqi religious figure also highlighted the role of media in confrontation with extremism and said,” Media play a key role in confrontation with extremism and destructive thoughts which are aimed at damaging all Muslims, particularly the educated younger generation.
 
He slammed hostile efforts which target the youths under the cover of modernity and said,” Enemies of Islam and Muslim nation stress launching and spread of poisonous thoughts in the minds of the youths in a bid to changing the basic concepts and morality among the people.”
