Iran to insist on nuclear stance: FM

“We will emphasize on the points and principles that we have announced since the outset of the talks [with the P5+1] and those that have been very clearly mentioned in the Lausanne statement,” Zarif said in reference to a mutual understanding reached between Tehran and the six global powers in Switzerland in April.

The top Iranian diplomat, who was speaking upon his arrival in the Swiss city of Geneva on Friday, added that he would hold talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday.

“We will discuss the latest developments in the talks and make a decision afterwards,” the Iranian minister said.

Zarif and his American counterpart are set to hold sensitive talks in Geneva in another bid to help narrow differences between Tehran and the P5+1 countries – the US, France, Britain, China and Russia plus Germany -- over writing the text of a final agreement.

Representatives from Iran and the six countries wrapped up their latest round of talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Friday.

The two sides have set July 30 as the deadline for a final deal.
