Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in an interview with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reporter on the sideline of Assembly of Expert's first meeting, detailed his views on the high status of Velayat Vaqih and the necessity of adhering to its guidance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA)

President of Iran top unity center and member of the assembly of expert demanded all walks of people along with various bodies to follow Velayat Faqih's commands highlighting such obedience was an avenue for fostering leadership foundation.

The grand Ayatollah urged people to take the cognizance of principles and ordinances set by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei adding, "adhering to Supreme Leader's guidance is in point of fact abiding by Iran's constitution and what the nation do want."

Elsewhere in his remarks, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought underlined, "the body should carry out well its set obligations in constitution."

According to the member of the assembly of expert, full obedience to Supreme Leader's instructions and teachings should be observed in various political, economic, cultural realms and officials should do their utmost to this very end.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki expressed his sincere hope that the current assembly of expert would succeed in advancing the aims set by Supreme Leader.

Assembly of Experts (AE) is responsible for exact and all-out preservation of Islamic and revolutionary identity of the system.

It is noteworthy that, Ayatollah Jannati was voted chairman of the 88-member assembly with 51 votes against two other contenders - former Judiciary chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Shahroudi and another prominent cleric Ayatollah Ehrahim Amini.

The 88-member Assembly of Experts is an important body in Iran responsible for supervising and electing the country's supreme leader. The members of the Assembly are elected for 8-year tenure.
