Riyadh show off meeting/ Saudi arms deal to contain illusionary threats
Iranian political commentator called Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia beyond a family tour stressing that the US President is making up for his budget deficit through extortioning countries like Saudi Arabia, Germany and Japan.

Sabarh Zangeneh, Iranian senior commentator on Middle East issues in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the meeting between Donald Trump and some Arab-Islamic countries which is to be held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh calling the summit as a show off meeting for all sides.
He referred to the massive propaganda on the meeting while the visit made by US President is in the company of his wife, daughter and son-in-law as well as some advisors; therefore, the meeting is more a family trip.
Iranian expert said,” What challenges the US at present is a volatile economic situation appeared following new president took office including, budget deficit and a number of issues which have scattered investors; therefore, the economic-minded President Trump is trying to make up for the budget deficit through extortioning countries like Saudi Arabia, Germany and Japan.”
He added,” Trump is certainly in need of campaign drills to make up for these deficit and these drills are carried out by making up a mock enemy or an illusionary threat while both Israel and the US try to misrepresent Iran as that illusionary threat to intensify Saudi concerns and provoke the Arab kingdom, UAE and other countries to seal greater arm deals with Washington.”
Sabah Zangeneh added.” This concern will lead to more arm deals when Mohammad bin Salman has vowed to seal a $110 billion arms deal extending that to $350 billion in near future.”
“On the one hand is a President Trump who is facing various economic, political issues at home facing a new criticism approaching the brim of interpellation” said the political commentator and added,” Therefore, he is trying to cover up for his shortcomings and domestic issues and on the other hand is the Saudi Arabia which has harassed itself in Yemen war quagmire since two years instead of following the model of Kuwait and Jordan or depending on its nation. In fact not only these arm deals will not heal any of its pains but also sink the Arab kingdom in greater financial debts and budgeting issues.”
Sabah Zangeneh stressed,” To make up a mock enemy seemed necessary for provoking Saudi Arabia to make more arm deals and justifying the move with pretexts like confronting threat but these deals have to be funded so that the US gains its money and Saudi Arabia is facilitated with the arms it imagines necessary for guaranteeing its security.”
The political commentator also referred to formation of an Arab NATO saying,” If this coalition is founded and the Zionist regime improves its ties with Riyadh, particularly with particiapation of Jerard Kushner who is acting as the economic and political mediator for the Zionist regime in the region, it is most likely that Saudi Arabia unveils its relations with Tel Aviv and as a result the most important issue in the region, Palestine, is marginalized by other issues or even completely forgotten.”
