Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday advised Islamic governments to focus on practical ways to fight terrorism.

The Supreme Leader made remarks in a meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal.
The Supreme Leader said that Iran and Algerian governments have close political outlooks about many regional and internatioanl issues.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation has always positive attitude towards Algeria because of the Algerian nation’s anti-colonialist struggle during the years of their revolution.

The Supreme Leader further expressed dissatisfaction with the low level of Iran-Algeria economic exchanges.

Referring to the issue of Daesh, Ayatollah Khamenei said the phenomenon of Daesh and the crimes against humanity it committed under the disguise of Islam all across the region is not a simple issue because the group is created and backed by certain governments.

Recalling formation of a resistance front which was established in the early years of victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Leader said that at the time certain governments were known to be following the US lead prevented such formations to take shape citing GECF.

The leader said that the situation seems ripe now for the countries which share common views to set up a similar organization.

The Algerian premier described the Summit of Leaders of Gas Exporting Countries Forum as successful and said Iran and Algeria shared many common views on issues pertaining to terrorism and Daesh.
