Imam Hussein is the manifestation of resistance: Sunni cleric

One of the members of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts, Akhound Salaheddin Goulan in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) beckoned to the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson and 3rd Shia Imam pointed out, "Imam Hussein (PBUH), with his martyrdom on Ashura, turned the manifestation of perseverance, persistence and courage against the oppressive powers."
"Imam Hussein (PBUH) sacrificed his life and his companions to revive the true principles and teachings of divine Islam so as to uproot the revealed deviations in the Islamic society," underscored the religious cleric.
Akhound Salaheddin Goulan went on to stress, "Imam Hussein (PBUH), did not swear allegiance to Yazid, and founded his own school based on humane dignity ."
The religious cleric held Ashoura uprising as a source of unity among Islamic Ummah noting all Islamic sects and denominations believe in Imam Hussein's (PBUH) uprising and do love the infallible Imam.
"Considering the popularity of the Ashura event among all Muslims, this huge event in the history of the Muslim world can be the point of unity for the Islamic Ummah," said Akhound Salaheddin Goulan.
The members of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts went on to add, "Imam Hussein (AS) can be the best axis for the unity of Islamic societies."
The Sunni cleric urged Muslims from all Islamic sects and denominations to follow Islamic rules and principles taking lessons from the event of Ashoura.
"All Muslims are responsible for inviting people to good and prevent them from evil," stressed the religious cleric noting Imam Hussein (PBUH) revived this Islamic duty with his own blood.
