Mubahala shows spiritual power of Muhammad Prophet

Addressing a group of religious cleric, the representative of Supreme leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Nourollah Tabrasie underscored, "Mubahila [the day Prophet Muhammad (s.w.a.) issued a challenge to Christian missionaries concerning the unity of God] can corroborate the truthfulness of religion of Islam," reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Long ago in Arabia there was to be a debate between Mohammad (PBUH) and Christians of Najran. The debate was traditionally known as Mubahila, which occurred on the 10th year of AH.

According to Ayatollah Nourollah Tabrasie, the astonishing event of Mubahala shows the extraordinary importance of clarifying the truth, and also the spirituality, purity and spiritual power of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his household.

According to the religious cleric, on the day of Mubahila, the prophet (PBUH) decided to participate in the debate. "During the event each side was to condemn the liar, asking God for punishment," underscored the religious cleric.

He further explained, when the Christian delegation saw the immaculate faces of the Prophet (PBUH) and his family (Ahlul Bait) including: Imam Ali, Lady Fatima Zahra, Imam Hassan, and Imam Hussain (PBUT), they were astonished; thus, they refrained from seeking condemnation towards the prophet and his household (PBUT).

They knew that the prophet’s dua and his family’s duas (PBUT) would be accepted, so the Bishop of Najran asked the prophet (PBUH) for forgiveness and compromise.
