Israel continues assault in Gaza as more kids die

The number of deaths among innocent women and children is on the rise as the Israeli regime continues its brutal offensive on the densely-populated Gaza Strip.
Israel continues assault in Gaza as more kids die

At least five children aged between three and 12 were killed in an Israeli air strike in the southern Gazan city of Rafah on Friday after a short-lived ceasefire broke down.

The 72-hour ceasefire between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas failed after Israel said one of its soldiers was “captured” by Gazan fighters.

Over 300 Palestinian kids have been killed by Israeli forces -- one fifth of the overall death toll -- in 25 days of a massive offensive on the coastal enclave.

Among the babies killed during the onslaught, was Shayma who died after she was rescued from her dead mother's womb last week.

Israeli warplanes have been pounding numerous sites in the Gaza Strip, since July 8, demolishing houses and burying families under the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.

While Tel Aviv confirms more than 60 Israelis have been killed in the war, Hamas sources put the number at over 145.

So far, more than 1,600 people have been killed and nearly 9,000 others injured by the Israeli regime’s offensive against the coastal sliver despite pressure from the international community.
