Vahid Yaminpour, member of the Union of Proximity Youths in Iran in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the objectives behind the recent visit made by the union representatives to the city of Paweh, to foil the plots which were going to risk the unity of Shia and Sunni community in the country.

He said,” Following the terrorist attacks in Tehran the friendly ties between the Shia and Sunni communities were feared to be shaken; therefore, it seemed necessary to deliver the message of friendship for the Sunni people in western Iran stressing that they are absolutely divided from terrorists.”

He referred to the rumors spread following the twin terrorists in Tehran regarding the allegedly Iranian nationality of the terrorists and that they were from Paweh, vain allegations which brought back memories of similar dark incidents 35 years ago.

Vahid Yaminpour added,” The first alleviating reactions were made by Mamusta Molla Ghader Ghaderi, great Sunni leader in the area and the prayer leader of Paweh who played positive role in pacifying the situation.”

Representative of the Union of Proximity Youths related on the fears of possible division between Shia and Sunni which would bring greater pain than that by the terrorist attacks; hence, it necessitated that the friendship message of people of Iran to be delivered to Kurdish and Sunni Iranians to remove their concerns and assure them that they are separated from terrorists.

He quoted Mamusta Ghaderi who precisely saying, ”A Kurd cannot join Daesh or he is not a Kurd at all” which was greatly approved by us and was the true reason behind our trip to Paweh.

Yamin pour referred to his gratitude for the wise stance of Mamusta Ghaderi and the great ceremony held by the cleric and the local Sunni people in Ghoba Mosque.

The ceremony, according to Yamin pour, was also attended by luminaries and top religious leaders from Shia and Sunni communities where the message by grand Ayatollah Araki was read addressing the people in the city.

Yaminpour called the visit an efficient one and said the Union of Proximity Youths scheduling other visits to be made in other areas in an attempt to provide the grounds for more proximity between Shia and Sunni youths.

When asked on the objectives behind the Union of Proximity Youths, he said,” Since Shia and Sunni youths the both the main players of Islamic proximity and also target of intriguing plots by enemies, it seemed necessary that the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought would seriously consider their potentiality.

Yamin pour noted the special attention of the world forum and grand Ayatollah Araki for the Union of Proximity Youths and expressed hope that the newly launched institution will play more active roles both at home and in the international arena.

Union of Proximity Youths has been launched at the inspiration of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought led by Ayatollah Mohsen Araki.
