World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts begins its 26th year of struggles with the closest distance from its exact perspective of formation of a “unified Islamic nation” and launching its foundation as it is one of the most important demands of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought passed its 25th birth anniversary in early October beginning its 26th year of struggles.
A review on the objectives of the World Forum based on its statute on the one hand and a review on the world statuesque will shed more light on the importance of the center among other institutions proving the necessity for expansion of its proximity activities in a bid to undermine dispersing policies of the enemies and also realization of Islamic unity.
It is especially stressed when based on the secretary general of the world forum grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, to move towards solidarity and calling the people to unity is not a tactic or a policy based on the contemporary issues rather it is a basic strategy which is counted as part of Islamic ideology.
In fact, it is based on this view that the world forum for proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought during the past 25 years has successfully carried out two strategic stages of its activities and is taking steps for the third and most expansive process of its roles in the world of Islam.
This forum, in the first step of its activities, started theorizing proximity and compiled a good collection of theories with the help of its affiliated research institutions. It was following this stage that the world forum began its second phase of its strategic activities, proximity dialogues. In this phase it started expanding proximity talks across the world of Islam and made it to set a dialogue of unity and proximity of denominations as the common dialogue in the world of Islam.
And now in the fresh steps for the third stage, practicing proximity activities, it is in need of founding institutions to make use of the present capacities in social, cultural, economic and political fields and extend proximity activities in all levels with the help of the people from different walks of life. Hence, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in this third phase of its strategic activities founded unions like, International Union of Muslim Women, International Union of Resistance Scholars, International Union of Academicians and Cultural Elites, International Union of Muslim Commercial Agents and other Islamic unions and parallel with the formation of these unions, it took other measures in line with practicing its proximity activities to the point that founding and expanding proximity societies in Muslim states like Lebanon (Association of Muslim Scholars), Pakistan (Islamic Unity Society), Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia. Indeed, meanwhile these activities, world forum has also carried out proximity activities in other (mainly non-Islamic) countries across the globe including Germany, UK and Sweden.
In fact, foundation and expansion of these proximity societies and also foundation of the aforesaid international Islamic unions has equaled maintaining the necessary tools for achieving the strategic objectives of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought because in line with leading the world forum to more expansive fields of society, it became possible to spread proximity activities from a limited atmosphere of the elites deep into the Islamic societies leading to expansion of the fields of unifying movements and also creation of a wave of popular efforts in line with realization of Islamic proximity as well as unifying followers of different Islamic denominations.
Meanwhile, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, has not sufficed to the aforesaid measures and has followed other activities in a bid to practicing its proximity activities. For instance holding different festivals including the Festival of Messenger of Kindness, Fatemi Festival and also Unity Film Festival as well as paying tribute to art figures, formation of International Islamic Charitable Organization have been among its measures. Besides to them all, formation of the Committee of Good Office (comprising more than 40 prominent Muslim figures for intermediacy and struggling to solve Shia Sunni disagreements in a certain region) and also expansion of its activities have been among other measures for the third step of its activities.
Eventually, World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is beginning its 26th year of activities when it has absorbed the utmost cooperation and sympathy of the Muslim elites particularly academic and seminary figures coming closer to the exact perspectives for formation of a unified Islamic nation and also founding such a society as the most important demand of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic (in the statement appointing grand Ayatollah Araki for the mission).
World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is trying to complete the needed infrastructure and take serious measures for formation of the Union of Islamic Countries, in a bid to fulfill the demand of the Supreme Leader and immediate realization of the objectives for this phase of its activities. This effort, according to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader, are based on general diplomacy and expansion of the University of Islamic Denominations or summoning the media for cooperation in this stage are among other necessities for that, same way that there will be efforts for holding a more active and practical annual Islamic unity conference.
