A suicide bomber has detonated explosive vest in the middle of Shia gathering in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad killing over 31 people wounding more than 30 others.

The explosion went off inside a tent filled with people taking part in Ashura processions, mourning the martyrdom of Prophet Mohammad's grandson, Imam Hussein, in the 7th century.

The tent was set up in a crowded market in the city's northern al-Sha’ab district.
