Cleric from Iran’s International Al Mustafa University stressed that activists should struggle for expanding Islamic proximity thoughts among the people.

Hashim Kounati, Al Mustafa University professor, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) noted that proximity activities are not confined to a particular group of people and it should be spread among people from all walks of life.
 
He called Islam as the religion of peace, affection, proximity and fraternity which calls all nations, governments and different ethnicities to solidarity and convergence.
 
Sunni prayer leader in Gorgan stressed unity as the main element for burgeoning of the Islamic civilization and said,” At present and amid the different intrigues which challenge the world of Islam, different Islamic denominations are called to maintain their convergence as a preliminary step to achieve Islamic unity” adding,” Shared religion and culture, which are the most important necessities for this convergence can aid Muslims to gain solidarity.”
 
Sunni cleric from the Ivory Coast highlighted the urgency of efforts by Muslim researchers in line with carrying out proximity teachings and brining convergence despite intrigues to hatch religious plots among different denominations.
 
Professor of Qur’anic studies noted the importance of maintaining Islamic unity by every individual in a bid to protect independence, national identity and interests.
 
“Islamophobia is not a challenge in the west” said the scholar and warned,” Enemies provoke Shia and Sunni Muslims against each other spreading xenophobia among them as well.”
 
Hashim Kounati warned that the world arrogant powers cannot tolerate independence of any Muslim or non-Muslim state and countries including Egypt, Tunisia, Algiers, Sudan and Libya have not achieved their independence despite Islamic awakening uprisings.
 
African scholar noted that launching comparative jurisprudence in line with realization of practical Islamic unity among Muslim states and called that as a positive move for recognition of commonalities and differences in an Islamic community.
 
He added,” Fiq’h-based unity does not translate into leaving our denominations rather it means to focus on our numerous commonalities.”
