'Uniting to limit bloodshed is a must'

Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad-Mahdi al-Nasiri called all Iraqi politicians and statesmen toward solidarity to preserve the unity of Iraq saying, “In order to preserve national unity, Iraqi politicians and officials must not allow their political differences and disagreements to continue.”

The Iraqi cleric added that any political differences are to the detriment of the Iraqi people because they are the cause of increased insecurity and instability in the country and give the terrorists opportunities to take advange of the government’s weaknesses to shed more of the Iraqi people’s blood.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Nasiri stressed that political differences also reduce the soldiers’ morale, adding that while security forces and fighters in different regions and cities of Iraq have made valuable victories against the terrorists, the Takfiri phenomenon and ISIL, the continuation of political differences among the country’s politicians have fostered further insecurity and instability and undermine political harmony and stability, as well as future victories aimed at the liberating of the entire Iraqi territory from the hands of terrorist groups.

In another part of his speech, His Eminence called on Iraq’s central and local governments to make efforts toward solving the electricity and water problems in the country because due to the start of the blistering summer heat, the people are suffering from numerous problems due to the power and water supply issues.

“Given the current conditions, the government must secure the delivery of water and electricity services and we have no zero tolerance in this regard as it causes negative repercussions at all levels,” Hujjat al-Islam al-Nasiri said.
