“Islam and Muslims in the Balkans” published

Iranian author has published his researches on the situation of Muslims in the Eastern European region and ways to expand Persian language as the means to spread Iranian-Islamic culture.

“Islam and Muslims of the Balkans” is the title for latest book by Iranian researcher and author, Mohammad Ghorbanpour Delavar, detailing his views and studies on the importance of the Balkans and the situation of Muslim community in the region, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The book is a study on the geographical situation of the Balkans and also Muslims in the area where includes 12 eastern European countries.
 
This area is especially stressed by the author as the home to followers of different religions which has been quite important due to the connection it makes between the east and the west.
 
The region has also been important to the rulers throughout the history because of its natural, humanitarian, economic and political features.
 
According to the author among other reasons for importance of the region are presence of Islam and Alawi Shia, spiritual tendencies to Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) particularly Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam, enthusiasm for Persian literature and poetry and also Iranology centers.
 
“Islam and Muslims in the Balkans” is in five sections the first one on the situation of Muslims in the region and stripping of their rights. The second section is a review of the Balkans in regards to the regional policies and necessity of more attention to the area.
 
The third and fourth sections in this book detail the expansion of Persian language as the second language in the world of Islam in the Balkans, Ashura (martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam), explanation of the opportunities and different social, economic, cultural and religious aspects in Albania.
 
The book concludes with introduction of references on the Balkans, research centers on eastern European countries and also images on the lifestyle of the Muslims in the region.
