Ayatollah Sayyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri said that Ayatollah Khamenei’s two-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was “crucial and unprecedented,” adding that President Putin went directly from the airport to the office of Supreme Leader.

“Political analysts have stated that this move represents the strategic relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation,” he said.

He explained that during this meeting, President Putin gifted Iran’s Supreme Leader with a valuable and historic Quran and they discussed major regional issues, much to the chagrin of the enemies of these two nations, who quickly showed their disapproval to this meeting, reported Rasa.

In regard to this disapproval, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri explained that the downing of a Russian jet in Syria by Turkey was incited by NATO and the leaders of the arrogant powers, stressing that they sought to show their disapproval and seek vengeance for the meeting between Ayatollah Khamenei and President Putin.

“Today, the sponsors of terrorism in the region, especially the United States, must officially admit defeat. They want to expand the role of NATO in the region, but hopefully this will not happen with the measures that are taken.” he stated.

Referring to the Basij week in Iran, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri explained that the Basij forces are like the revolution itself and this militia has all the features of the Islamic Revolution – it is uncompromising with the arrogant powers and stands firm in the face of difficulties and strives with awareness and insight to realize its lofty aspirations and goals in all fields.

He said that during the Iran-Iraq War, the Basij forces steadfastly fought alongside other armed groups and achieved victory with them. He added that in the present era, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has recently remarked that Iran’s enemies seek to infiltrate the country under various pretexts and that alongside the country’s officials, elites and people, the Basij forces can prevent their attempts at infiltrating Iran. “This is an undeniable fact,” he added.

Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri continued that every day, the Basij must increase their range of insight on the basis of the Supreme Leaders’ commands and not fall into pride, negligence and materialism. They also must strive to institutionalize the culture of courage, spirituality, sincerity and religiosity and they must resist the West’s attempts to combat Iranian-Islamic culture in all fields.

His Eminence also referred to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on November 29, saying that all Islamic nations should declare their solidarity with Palestine, adding that the third Palestinian Intifada against the Zionist regime began 78 days ago and nearly a hundred people have been killed so far. “A characteristic of the present Intifada in comparison to the previous two Intifadas is that Palestinians are fighting in territories that are under the direct control of Israel,” he said.

“The leaders of Islamic countries must stand on the side of the oppressed people of Palestine,” he demanded.
