According to Syria’s official SANA news agency on Saturday, the Takfiri terrorists were killed during operations in the province’s strategic al-Nasseriye and al-Mintar hills, which are now in control of Syrian forces.

Ahead of the clashes, Syrian forces targeted the terrorists' positions with heavy rocket fire which destroyed several of their fortified headquarters and killed a high-ranking militant field commander.

Operations were also launched against terrorist supply lines between the towns of al-Latamneh and Kafr Zeta and militant-held town of Helfaya.

During the operations a large amount of terrorist equipment was destroyed and several vehicles were confiscated.

Meanwhile, in the country’s eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr, Syrian forces found and destroyed a network of tunnels used by the Daesh terrorist group during intensive operations against the Takfiri militants.

At least 15 Takfiris were killed when the 150-meter tunnel, which was used for transporting arms and equipment, was destroyed.

In the northwestern province of Latakia, Syria army forces launched several attacks on terrorist held positions destroying large amounts of equipment and killing several of the Takfiris and injuring many more.

Different foreign-backed terrorist groups have been wreaking havoc in Syria since 2011.

Over the past few months, Syrian forces have made sweeping gains against Takfiri elements who have lately increased their acts of violence across the country following a series of defeats on the ground.

US interferes after Syria makes anti-terror gains

Also on Saturday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that the US and its Western allies only start to interfere after Syrian forces make significant advances against terrorists in the country.

He noted that the US attack on a Syrian airbase on April 7 came directly after foreign-backed terrorists were defeated in several operations in Hama.

Assad further stressed that his country would continue to battle terrorism for as long as militants remained on its soil.

He also noted that the Syrian government would actively continue its participation in the Astana and Geneva peace talks.
