JCPOA has international approval: Araghchi

Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi had recently taken part at the International Conference on Disarmament and Non-proliferation nuclear weapons in Moscow. Speaking to reporters upon returning to Tehran, the Iranian official said his visit to Russia had yielded favorable outcomes.

“All various figures whom I met in Moscow unanimously agreed that the JCPOA was a valid international document and that all involved parties had to stick to it and implement it properly,” he continued.

Araghchi said all meetings had concluded that the nuclear deal was non-renegotiable and no footnotes would be added to the agreement.

“All participants at Moscow Nonproliferation Conference emphasized that the nuclear deal had to be preserved and fully implemented.”

Iran’s deputy FM underscored that JCPOA could not be linked to other issues, a fact attested by all figures present at the Moscow event.

The official, while stressing that Iran’s nuclear deal had become an integral part of the non-proliferation regime, said “the US and Donald Trump have become isolated since majority of world countries and representatives of international organizations back the agreement.”

The Moscow Nonproliferation Conference commenced on Friday, focusing on several topics related to NPT, disarmament of nuclear weapons and peaceful application of nuclear energy.
