Jurisprudent calls for highlighting Shia Sunni commonalities

Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, top Shia jurisprudent, met with a group of scholars on a mission for promoting the month of Muharram hailed Ashura and ceremonies for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam as precious Islamic assets with which many problems can be solved, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He expressed satisfaction for spread of Ashura culture among the people warning against anti-Shia movements demanding clerics for more efforts to foil the hostilities against Shia Islam.

Professor at Qom Seminary demanding the clerics to maintain the importance of Islamic unity during their mission in Muharram in line with the facts about Ahlul Bayt (AS) household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said,” Everything should be stated quite respectfully and the words should not bear any burden of sarcasm or disrespect.” warning against the enemies who are targeting both Shia and Sunni in Iraq and Syria.

He stressed that Shia and Sunni have to highlight their commonalities and noted,” These commonalities are better known during Hajj pilgrimage.” And added,” Commonalities are numerous though there are minor differences too.”

Senior scholar demanded for resistance against the enemies slamming the renewal of atrocities and killings by the Zionist regime of Israel among the Sunni Muslims.
