President Hassan Rouhani says Iran is determined to expand relations with other countries regardless of the fate of the ongoing nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries.
Iran preparing to usher in post nuclear talks era: Rouhani
Rouhani said  that Tehran is preparing plans to respond to the situation that emerges after the talks with six world powers, saying the Islamic Republic will be prepared to expand its relations with other countries.

The nuclear negotiations are going through sensitive days and Iran is in fact preparing itself for the post-negotiations and post-sanctions era, Rouhani said prior to his departure for Russia for two major international summits.

During the two-day visit to Russia, which comes at the official invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Rouhani is scheduled to address the summits of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the city of Ufa.

Iran and the P5+1 countries - the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany - have been engaged in crucial talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna, for reaching a deal over Tehran’s nuclear program.

Rouhani has been invited to the BRICS summit as a special guest, while his presence at the subsequent summit of the SCO comes as an observer member. The organization is awaiting the lifting of sanctions on Iran to accept it as a full-fledged member.

BRICS accounts for almost half of the world's population and about one-fifth of the global economic output. Iran has always supported the group's rising influence in the global economy, looking for an opportunity to join the five-nation bloc.

In their last summit in March 2013, BRICS members voiced concern over Western governments' stand on Iran's nuclear activities.
