'Observing 22nd of Bahman is humane, religious and national duty'

"Partaking in 22nd of Bahman rally is a humane, religious and national duty upon people," said Friday Prayer Leader in Torkaman.

Sunni Friday Prayer Leader in Torkaman, Akhound Abdol Jabbar Mirabie in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) held observing the 22nd of Bahman as a humane, religious and national duty upon people.

"Those bitter and sweat days will never slid into oblivion and on the countrary have been registered in people's minds," highlighted the religious cleric.

According to Akhound Abdol Jabbar Mirabie, nationwide rallies are the manifestation of the Iranian people’s allegiance to the causes of the Islamic Revolution and ideals of Imam Khomeini.

In his line, "it is incumbent upon all Iranian people to renew their commitment to revolution, the late Imam and Islam through taking part in event."

Iranians from all walks of life partook in the rallies marking the 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution amid the new US administration's stepped-up anti-Iran rhetoric.

Each year, millions of Iranians take to the streets across the country on Bahman 22 (the date on the Persian calendar coinciding with the anniversary of the February 11, 1979 Islamic Revolution) to commemorate the victory of the Revolution, which put an end to the monarchical rule of the US-backed Pahlavi regime. The anniversary of the Islamic Revolution fell on February 10 this year.

The Islamic Revolution, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.

This year’s rallies was held as the administration of new US President Donald Trump had been ratcheting up pressure and tough talk against the Islamic republic.
