Iranian former ambassador explains:

Kurdistan independence referendum and Saudi-Israeli-American axis

The issue of independence referendum in Kurdistan should be studied from multiple aspects. Kurdish people have had their demands during the past three decades for which they have taken some steps though in regards to their political situation they have automatically been subject to regional and international changes.
Kurdistan independence referendum and Saudi-Israeli-American axis
Ahmad Dastmalchian, Iran’s former ambassador to Lebanon, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) has explained his views denouncing the US policies and Saudi-Israeli-American axis for the serious pursuit of an independence referendum held in Kurdistan on September 25.

He said,” The evil triangle of the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel is the regional think tank in charge of plotting and carrying out intrigues, an alliance which has been revealed and implicitly injected into remarks by authorities from these countries.”

According to the Iranian former ambassador the reason for efforts to destabilize the region should be sought in Hezbollah’s 2006 key victory against Zionist regime.

Ahmad Dastmalchian noted that the most important achievement by Hezbollah was to deny the invincibility theory of Israel and added,” The first ripple of the achievement was one launched in Syria spreading to Iraq and Yemen in order to destabilize the region and collapse the infrastructures.”

He said,” The second ripple was to create crisis in the region in an attempt to destabilize regional countries through ethnical and sectarian provocations.”

“Israel is the only illegal regime in the region, ethnically and racially stranger and a politically minority in the middle of Muslim lands and in contrast with culture and origin of the Palestinian people” said Ahmad Dastmalchian and added,” Therefore it should pull itself out of this isolation and legalize itself through provoking ethnical issues and maintain a policy of generating minority governments to bring similar examples of minorities similar to itself.”

Iranian political figure noted that it is in line with the policy of the Zionist regime to highlight the issue of diverse ethnicities and fuel the differences between Shia and Sunni; hence, the recent so-called independence referendum in Kurdistan should be reviewed in regards to its controversial and sudden outbreak.

He counted the factors which provided the grounds for immediate independence referendum in Iraq including; intentional destabilization of the region, inability of the central government to fulfill the popular demands leading to successful provocation of colonial powers and also destabilization of the countries which include minority groups.

In view of the former ambassador Iraqi government has always been generous to Kurds receiving unfriendly reactions from Kurdish semi-autonomous government under Barzani and said,” This was an unwise measure which will certainly bring the Kurds to their knee.
