Imam Reza (AS) shrine, Mashhad, clad in black for Muharram (photo)

The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam, in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad is clad in black mourning for the month of Muharram and martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) martyred in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
