Iranian MP rejected Takfiri (excommuniacting) thoughts as non-Islamic and inhumane.
Hamed Ghader Marzi, an Iranian MP and member of Sunni Fraction in Iran’s Parliament, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on the importance of making the best of Hajj pilgrimage to boost Islamic unity.
He called the ceremony as the sole occasion that there is no discussion of differences among Muslims and that everything is focused on unity and commonalities.
He stressed that Muslims have to maintain their ideologies and morals of Hajj as exemplary and said,” If Muslims set Hajj as the model for their other ceremonies and social gatherings, then there will be no more disagreement.”
He noted that what is highlighted as difference is from outside the Muslim world, those who are neither Shia nor Sunni but those who fuel Shia Sunni disagreements to guarantee a market for production of their arms.
Sunni MP demanded Muslims to be vigilant and maintain their intention of unity in their mind.
“In my opinion if Shia and Sunni focus on their commonalities, then there will be no space for disagreement or dispersion.” He said.
From the viewpoint of this Iranian MP some disagreements among Shia and Sunni communities are due to increased distances and lack of dialogue on their minor differences.
He also related on the issue of Takfiri (excommunication) thoughts and noted,” Reality is that Takfir is an issue which does not originate from Islam and neither Shia nor Sunni or any monotheist would approve excommunication.”
Hamed Ghader Marzi, said,” Takfiri thoughts are not only non-Islamic but also inhumane.”
He demanded Shia and Sunni communities to take unified stance against excommunication and do not accuse each other to be the origin of Takfir.
