Senior Iranian cleric highlighted the popular Demonstration of June 5th in Iran as the beginning point for solidarity of all ethnical groups in Iran.
Mamusta Sannar Tamarnejad, Friday prayer leader of the Sunni community in Iran in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) called the June 5th Demonstration as the point where solidarity of all Iranian ethnicities, with any culture and language.
He called the Demonstration of June 5th as a result of vigilance and insight of the pious people.
He said,” The uprising has been a turning point for beginning movements to revive the rights and a move which unified the people under the leadership of late Imam Khomeini (RA).”
Iranian Sunni scholar referred to the news regarding detention of late Imam Khomeini (RA) back in 1963 and the people who began meetings to voice their opposition with arrest of the leader.
He also referred to intensification of protests across different Iranian cities which led to martyrdom of several people and said,” The incident turned to the onset for unity of all Iranian ethnical groups with different languages and culture.”
According to the Friday prayer leader of Naqadeh June 5th uprising led to freedom of a unified nation that joined forces under their single flag.
The 15th of Khordad Uprising of 1963 (The demonstration of June 5th) happened following detention of the popular leader, Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini when the people took to the streets in support of their religious and political leader, several of them killed and wounded by the then military of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. The incident has been inscribed on Iranian calendar and is counted as the beginning point for the Islamic Revolution of 1978 that toppled Pahlavi regime.
