"Mohsen Meschi", Deputy of Iran Affairs and senior adviser to the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought , made some explanations regarding the programs and Iranian guests of the 37th Unity Conference, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Meschi said: This year 110 of the Iranian guests, who have been invited to attend the opening ceremony of the conference are special guests and they will attend all the programs of the conference.
“The special Iranian guests are elites and religious, political and cultural officials,” he added.
He continued: The Iranian guests are from the provinces of West Azarbaijan, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Razavi and North and South Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Golestan, Hormozgan, Fars, Ardabil and from more than 60 cities of the country.
Meschi added: 45 of the special invitees are the Friday prayer leaders, 50 are managers and academicians, and 15 are managers of scientific, cultural, executive institutions and senior religious figures.
He continued: Among the 110 domestic special guests, 90 are Sunnis and 20 are Shia, of which 22 are elite women.
"There are a total of 128 people, 98 of them, will give speeches in 15 webinars during the Unity Week,' Meschi stated.
He went on to say: for the first time in the history of the Unity Conferences, four Shia great authorities gave speeches or issued a special message for the conference.
The 37th Islamic Unity Conference is underway in the capital Tehran as a number of Shia and Sunni scholars attend the webinars and the meeting to be held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought. This year the elites and religious figures attending the event discuss the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”. The conference is held on 28th September to 3rd concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
