A senior member of the Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad says Iran and Hezbollah were key contributors to the resistance victory over the Israeli regime in the recent Gaza war.
Abu Imad Ar-Rifai, representative of the Islamic Jihad in Beirut, said on Tuesday that the Iranian Fajr (Dawn) 5 missiles were decisive in defeating Israeli regime in its eight-day offensive against the Gaza Strip.
“What happened in Gaza was a great victory for the Palestinian people that demonstrates our people’s commitment to resistance and prepares the ground for achieving more victories in the region,” Ar-Rifai added.
On November 14, the Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and artillery fire left at least 166 Palestinians, including many women and children, dead and over 1,200 others injured from November 14 to November 21.
In response, Palestinian resistance fighters incessantly poured rockets and missiles onto the Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis, including one soldier.
An Egypt-mediated ceasefire agreement, which took effect at 1900 GMT on November 21, ended the eight-day Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
Last week, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari said Iran has provided the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, with the technology to produce Fajr 5 (Dawn) missiles. /SR
