Lebanese Friday prayer leaders warned against the situation in the country and the region stressed the necessity of unity to prevent spread of crisis to the whole world.
Seyyed Ali Fadhl Allah, prayer leader at Hassanein Mosque in Beirut demanded dialogue among Muslim communities in Lebanon calling that the way drawn by Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He highlighted the importance of standing against intrigues because they will affect the future of Lebanon to the point that the Zionists and world powers play with the unity among Muslims and bloodshed escalates in Arab and Islamic countries.
He referred to the crisis in Iraq and said the country is in need of a serious measure by all political parties and prevention of anyone who fishes in troubled water of the present situation in Iraq.
He praised the unity prayer held in Iraq and called that a symbolic move adding,” Unity prayer decreases religious clashes in Iraq and here we demand continuation of the path so that all Iraqi provinces unite together.”
Seyyed Ali Fadl Allah said Syria crisis has turned into an international issue and has gone beyond the preliminary demands of the people which were freedom and a descent life, reiterating peaceful means and political dialogue as the solution for Syria crisis.
Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, top Mufti of Jafari denomination called for Islamic unity and said,” Those who pretend to demand for a change are in fact after a futile claim and the demolitions, killings and wasting Syrian assets is only the beginning of an endless way.”
Allameh Sheikh Afif Nablosi, prayer leader of Sidon in his weekly prayer criticized Salafi groups in Syria and said,” These armed groups do not merely aim Syria but they mean to continue their sabotages into Lebanon; therefore, Lebanese government has to spare no effort in protecting Lebanese citizens and confronting efforts by such excommunicating groups.”
