A week into the holy month of Ramadan, European capital of London hosts Qur’an festival to spread the message of peace and love among people and join Muslims and non-Muslims from different countries.
London Qur’an festival makes use of the holy book of Islam to gather prominent Muslim figures from different countries and promote the message of peace and kindness between followers of different religions and those of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Translation of the divine book of Islam in different languages is shown in the Week-long event.
This festival also shows Islamic books on different topics including history, law, Women and kids in Islam besides an exhibition of artistic and Qur’anic Calligraphy works.
Baron Nazir Ahmad, Muslim member of British House of Lords, attending this festival, said,” Qur’an bears the message of kindness and it is very important that this message is explained not only for Islamic communities and Muslim kids but also for the followers of other religions.”
He called London Qur’an festival an opportunity for Muslims and non-Muslims to be familiar with the teachings in the holy book of Islam.
Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, referred to several problems in Muslim societies and said, “It is quite necessary that Qur’an’s message of kindness is explained in the UK and other western countries.”
The opening ceremony of London Qur’an festival was participated by renowned figures including Lord Ahmad Nazir, member of British House of Lords, Hujjat-ol-Islam Moezzi, Head of London Islamic Center and Saeed Shahabi, Bahraini activist.
