ran's cultural and tourism week has kicked off in the Greek capital Athens in an effort to introduce Persian art, culture, and tourist attractions.
Iran's Ambassador to Greece Mehdi Honardoust officially inaugurated the event in Athens Royal Olympic Hotel, IRNA reported on Sunday.
During the ceremony, the official said that Iran and Greece have a rich historical and cultural background which can attract tourists from all around the world.
The Iranian envoy expressed hope that holding cultural weeks would help the two countries increase cooperation in all spheres.
An exhibition of Iranian handicrafts is also held on the sidelines of the event.
Iran's cultural week in Greece will run until February 19.
Earlier in February, the Iranian embassy in Kyrgyzstan held a retrospective of Iranian cinema in Bishkek, screening a number of movies by distinguished Iranian filmmakers.
