Top Iranian envoy to Georgia met with senior religious executive to stress interfaith dialogue capacity to prevent expansion of extremism.

Seyyed Javad Qavam Shahidi, Iran’s ambassador to Georgia met with the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, stressed freedom of religions in the country could provide opportunity for other countries, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called referred to capability of religion to serve as an incentive for development in a society or provide the grounds for enemies to expand extremism.
 
Iranian ambassador noted that the cooperation and dialogue among followers of different religions can prevent spread of extremist thoughts.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Abbasi, director of Iran’s Al Mustafa International University also highlighted intensification of counter-extremist confrontations in the Middle East region.
 
He hailed Iran for its history of interfaith coexistence and religious freedom and called for sharing the experiences in confrontation with extremist groups.
 
Iranian and Georgian officials scheduled to ink MoU on religious cooperation between Al-Mustafa International University and State Agency for Religious Issues.
