Senior Iranian cleric hailed expansion of ties between Tehran and world countries in economic and social arenas as part of effort to boost the country's power.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in his weekly meeting with members of the deputies at the center referred to Iran's plans for boosting economic ties with world countries as part of efforts to promote the second phase of Islamic Revolution, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed Iran's rejection of eastern and western dominant powers and added," That translates to Iran's maintaining its honor and expansion of its ties with world countries in a bid to change world equations for interests of the Islamic Republic."
"Certainly our economic, cultural and social cooperation with world counties, once it benefits Iran, will show our determination to follow the path of late Imam Khomeini (RA)" he said.
Secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to close economic relations in the world and reiterated importance of being part of the global relations between world countries.
The scholar also alluded to the holy book of Islam recommending Muslims to boost relations with nations not hostile to Muslims.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari made the comments in the weekly meeting of the center as Islamic Republic of Iran and China near trade and military partnership.
