Rafael Grossi, Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will arrive in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Monday in order to discuss the grounds for more cooperation with the country.
IAEA Director General will be meeting top Iranian officials as isolation of the United States and global endorsement of the nuclear agreement between Tehran and five world powers, also known as JCPOA, has increased hopes for saving the nuclear agreement, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The first visit of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi since he took office in December will take place in line with "concrete progress" in mutual cooperation between the international watchdog and Tehran.
"I also hope to establish a fruitful and co-operative channel of direct dialogue with the Iranian government which will be valuable now and in the future" he said.
While some analysts believe that the upcoming meeting will be an effort to visit two nuclear sites in Iran others stress the visit as part of efforts to boost the cooperation which has been damaged in the past months.
