Former Iraqi prime minister Haidar al-Abadi met with representatives of Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to stress necessity of Islamic proximity and boosting social ties in the Arab country.
Haidar al-Abadi in this meeting with WFPIST delegation led by Seyyed Kazem al Jaberi appreciated the endeavors of major Islamic unity center and underlined necessity of proximity activities as well as regaining of popular trust by religious figures in Iraq, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He noted necessity of Iraqi government preventing any form of religious or racial prejudice since the mission of government is providing equal services for all people.
Seyyed Kazem al-Jaberi provided a report on activities of the world forum in 2019 and hailed the supportive stance of al-Abadi which greatly contributed to materialization of Islamic unity and supporting programs by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought during his premiership.
Representative of Iraqi branch of world forum related on the programs carried out in different Iraqi provinces and successful building of relations between the scholars as well as several conferences and scientific debates held in Kirkuk and Mosul University.
The meeting was scheduled in line with plans by Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to meet with political figures in the country and providing a report on previous activities and announcing future programs by the Islamic unity center.
