Senior Iranian cleric has issued a message on Thursday to condemn the recent Qur’an burning by a Danish far-right group.
Ayatollah Alireza A’rafi, manager of seminaries in Iran, has issued a message to censure the recent Qur’an burning gathering in the Swedish city of Malmo stressing that the most absurd story of our time is to burn the holy books under the pretext of freedom, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Top cleric in this message warned the Islamophobe and extremist groups that Islam will not fade away and popularity of the holy book of Islam will not be tarnished.
Director of Al-Mustafa International University in this message censured the desecration of holy Qur’an for raging followers of sacred religions and condemned European authorities for their approval of the heinous move under the pretext of freedom.
“Islam and Muslim scholars have always stressed cultural interaction among all people, followers of all religions and respect for all sanctities” wrote the cleric in part of his message and added,” Now that the flag of Islam is hoisted across the globe, a group of anti-rational and arrogant people have arrayed to fight enlightenment and human values.”
He warned that the shameless act will remain in the record of claimants of western civilization and ignorant movements.
Ayatollah A’rafi stressed preparation of all Islamic seminaries for open interfaith debates with all religious scholars across the globe and vowed confrontation with any form of desecration or accusation.
Director of Iranian seminaries issued the message in the wake of a far-right gathering and burning a copy of Qur’an near the communal Friday prayer in the Swedish city of Malmo.
The move has raged Muslims in the European city as primary peaceful protests turned violent after the police arrested the perpetrators of Qur’an burning incident.
