Senior researcher of Islamic studies from South Africa in his speech on the second day of the 34th Islamic Unity Conference held virtually hailed the positive reaction and cooperation of the Muslim countries in regards to the new coronavirus.
Abdul Rashid Omar, researcher of Islamic studies attended the webinar held by Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on "Islamic Cooperation in Face of Calamities and Disasters" said the positive approach and endeavors of Muslim countries from across the globe is heartwarming, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He praised the swift reaction of the Muslims to turn their homes to a place of worship amid the coronavirus restrictions as flexibility of Muslims in crisis.
African intellectual called on the Muslim scholars to derive proper solution for the present crisis from among the great Islamic resources.
Sheikh Ismael Dua, head of the supreme council of Muslims in Zimbabwe in his speech noted the indiscriminate threat of the pandemic infection for all people regardless of their race, ethnicity and beliefs.
The cleric called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to share the information and resources necessary in fight against the new coronavirus.
The webinar of South African thinkers was held on the second day of the 34th Islamic Unity Conference.
The annual event is held between 29th October -3rd November in online meetings due to the COVID-19 and more than 350 lectures will be given during the 6-day event held by Iran's World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
