India hosts webinar on Prophet Mohammad in Indian religions

Iran's cultural attaché in India has slammed desecration of religious sanctities as a root cause of conflicts among people with different schools of thought.


Mohammad Ali Rabbani, Iran's cultural attaché in India, attended the webinar on "Holy Prophet Mohammad in Indian Religions" as Indian religious leaders exchanged views on blasphemy in Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity and Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian diplomat in this webinar warned of desecration as a reason behind outbreak and expansion of conflicts and a constant concern in history of man saying," This is the reason that pushed religions and legal systems to adopt a framework banning desecration of religious sanctities and beliefs in a bid to prevent sectarian rifts and violation."
 
Top official noted that as reason why major religions and international regulations, human rights and legal systems across different countries have criminalized desecration of religious sanctities due to its opposition with peace and also sparking religious clashes.
 
He also referred to the high status of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and said," Sacrilege of one prophet is not disrespect for followers of that particular prophet but it is disrespect for followers of all holy religions."
 
Mohammad Ali Rabbani hailed the role model of prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in behaving other religions and communities as one of the most effective models for coexistence with other relisions, denial of hatred and violence and also promotion of peace and friendship among people.
 
Swami Shantatmananda, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission in Delhi, said," Although different religions are seemingly going their own way, they are all in fact moving towards one shared objective, guiding mankind towards happiness."
 
He referred to the commonalities of Islam and Hinduism and history of coexistence between Muslims and Hindus hailing the high status of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) for all people throughout history.
