Morteza Sabouri, Iran's cultural attaché in Manila referred to history of prophets under attack in their mission while the desecration of religious sanctities under the pretext of freedom of expression dates back to modern era and intellectualism which desacralizes religious values.

Iranian diplomat made the comments in the webinar on "Religious Sanctities and Freedom" held on Wednesday November 21^st by Iran's cultural attaché in Manila inviting academics and elites from Iran and the Philippines to exchange views on freedom of expression, Islamophobia and religious hatred, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Morteza Sabouri added," The latest instance of desecration in France, mainly dates back to modernity, rationalism and intellectualism when a number of thinkers and politicians began desacralizing religious sanctities and expressed a variety of disrespects and assaults against religious values under the pretext of freedom of expression and scientific criticism."
 
He warned," Such claims and misuse of human values could lead to mutual reaction and promotion of extremism under the title of religion, an issue which has expansion of hatred for religions and terrorist attacks."
 
Professors from Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila and Imam Sadeq (AS) University in Iran discussed their views on desecration of religious sanctities, importance of respecting other religions as a mission for all as a measure to prevent extremism.
