Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei has delivered speech on Sunday morning televised live on birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS), sister of Imam Hussein (AS) and granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also known as National Nurses Day to mark the endeavors of the nurses during the pandemic for the past year.
Ayatollah Khamenei in his remarks praised the struggles of the nurses across the country during the COVID-19 and expressed condolences over the passing of healthcare workers who lost their lives due to the pandemic, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
"Today the nurses are more honored than ever and everybody else" said the Supreme Leader calling the nurses as "angels of mercy for patients."
Supreme Leader marked the struggles of nurses who are remedies for both the physical and mental sufferings of the patients.
Ayatollah Khamenei called the nurses as partners for doctors and highlighted the key role of nurses in healing process for the sick people.
"In fact endeavors to alleviate the sufferings of people is among the most beautiful scenes and let me note that this beauty was witnessed more during the months of struggle with COVID-19" stressed Ayatollah Khamenei.
Birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS), sister of the third Shia Imam and granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is known as National Nurses Day in Iranian calendar. This year the occasion is particularly marked due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
