Ayatollah Mohammad Vaezzadeh was constantly endeavoring not to lose any aspect of Islamic knowledge meanwhile was deeply concerned over unity among Muslims and bringing the different Islamic denominations together.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, has issued a message on passing anniversary of prominent Islamic proximity figure and first secretary general of major Islamic unity center in Iran and hailed the late cleric for his endeavors to promote solidarity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric praised late Ayatollah Mohammad Vaezzadeh for his struggles to bring Islamic denominations together and demolishing the walls between them.
He noted that the concerns and endeavors of the late scholar was the reason he was appointed as the first secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in early days after establishment of the center back in 1990.
According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari reason for his pursuit of Islamic proximity was his companionship with prominent scholars of his time with the same concern.
"There is no exaggeration if I say Islamic proximity has been one of my objectives since early days and I have seriously pursued the ambition throughout my life" he quoted Ayatollah Vaezzadeh Khorasani.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari concluded," On fifth anniversary of Ayatollah Vaezzadeh, it is a mission upon the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to maintain the path of great cleric."
Senior contemporary Islamic thinker, Mohammad Vaezzadeh Khorasani (1926-2016), professor at the University of Mashhad and founder of the University of Islamic Denominations, founder and the first secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
