Azeri President Ilham Aliyev has visited the liberated border areas in Jabrayil and Zangialn districts calling the Azerbaijnai- Iranian border as a border of friendship.

President Aliyev stressed importance of protecting Azerbaijani-Iranian border,  called as "border of friendship" an important factor for development of the relations between the neighboring countries, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said," This (Azerbaijani-Iranian) border is, in the true sense of the word, is the border of friendship and cooperation" and added," Citizens of both countries benefit from this by crossing the border. At the same time, the growing volume of cargo indicates the development of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. "
 
Azeri President also referred to the nearby Khudafarin Bridge as a symbol of friendship between Iran and Azerbaijan.
 
He congratulated opening of a new military unit of the State Border Service on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border following the liberation of Azeri lands in Nagarno-Karabakh conflict in early December 2020.
