Pakistani Qur'anic figure hailed the holy book of Islam as the unifying factor among all Islamic denominations at the closing ceremony of "Journey of Light" competition held in the country.
Sultan Ahmed Ali Bahoo, director of religious research institute in his speech at the closing ceremony of Qur'an competition held at the headquarter of the institute in Lahore, highlighted the role of holy Qur'an as the book unifying all Islamic denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
In this ceremony which was attended by a number of Shia and Sunni scholars, participants stressed necessity of a campaign for more comprehension and ponder on the high teachings of holy Qur'an and noted such meetings as way to foil western plots to tarnish image of Islam.
Sultan Ahmed Ali Bahu said," Qur'an is the only holy book which can turn into a unifying factor among all Muslims.
He noted," Western Media intentionally define some Qur'an verses as element behind violence in world in line with their Islamophobia campaign while they have not fully understood the meaning and spiritual aspect of these verses."
Allameh Seyyed Javad Naqav, director of Urwa Al-Wuthqa institute hailed the attractions of holy Qur'an which absorbs millions of people even after 14 centuries and leads them to the right path.
He highlighted the responsibility of religious scholars in modern time enumerated globalization of messages in Qur'an, familiarization of western people with true message of Qur'an and boosting coexistence among all religions as the objectives of Pakistan's Minhaj al-Qur'an institute.
