Members of Islamic nation share objectives, fate, enemies

Senior scholar from Al-Azhar University in Egypt counted the commonalities among Muslims which bring the different Islamic denominations closer to each other.


Abdul Salam Muhammad, professor of Al Azhar University attended the webinar on the role of seminaries in promoting Islamic proximity highlighted Islamic unity as a religious principle recommended by the Almighty God, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” To call Muslims to unity is as important as prayer, Hajj and other Islamic principles though it has been undervalued by Muslim scholars who do not spare enough effort to promote that.”
Top Egyptian cleric referred to the 27 European countries establishing a unified European nation with shared objectives and enemies despite the different languages, histories and geographical locations.
 
He said,” Islamic nation also shares objective, fate and enemies in ambush besides the several Islamic principles among the different denominations.”
 
Abdul Salam Muhammad added,” While Muslims share more than 90 percent of their beliefs and principles, is there any reason for division or dispersion among them?”
 
Top cleric expressed regret that some scholars lead Muslims to provocative issues which the holy Qur’an has already warned of them.
 
Abdul Salam Muhammad made the comments in an online meeting of Muslim scholars discussing  role of seminaries in promoting Islamic proximity on the fiftieth anniversary of the meeting my Al Azhar delegation to Iran made by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
A number of Muslim intellectuals from across the globe delivered speech in this webinar held on Wednesday.
