US embassy in Kabul has ordered the staff to destroy sensitive documents and items featuring the American flag as Taliban militants have announced preparation to attack the Afghan capital following other provincial capitals.
In a memo written for the staff at the US embassy in Kabul, the diplomats have been called to destroy sensitive documents, computers and any item symbolizing the United States.
The memo has come a day after Washington announced deploying 3,000 forces to evacuate the staff at US embassy in Kabul.
This is while Ned Price, the State Department's chief spokesman said on Thursday that the embassy will remain open and the diplomatic world in Afghanistan will continue.
3,000 US forces will be deployed to Afghanistan and will be stationed near Kabul airport to evacuate the US embassy in the Afghan capital as the Taliban militants announced preparation to take over Kabul.
Taliban militants so have seized nine provincial capitals in Afghanistan and reports that the capital will fall within the next weeks have grown stronger.
