Iran has dismissed any problem at its borders with Afghanistan rejecting rumors on clashes between Iranian border guards and Taliban militants following the takeover of Afghanistan by the militant forces in Afghanistan.
An Iranian security source said on Sunday that there has been no clash or hostility between the Iranian border guards and Taliban militants at Islam Qala border crossing.
The security source who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed that a member of Taliban had mistakenly crossed the border into Iranian soil however he was noted on the border laws and returned to Afghanistan territory.
This is while Iran’s Major general Hussein Soleimani called the people on Friday not to worry over insecurity at the eastern borders and that full observation was maintained at the borders with Afghanistan regarding the latest advancement of the Taliban militants.
This is while the diplomats at Iran’s embassy in Kabul have been reported to be safe at that no problem has occurred at Iranian missions in Afghanistan rejecting footage images showing Taliban militants entering Iran’s consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Taliban militants took over the Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday after seizure of the vast areas in the country two decades after US invasion of the country in reaction to 9/11 attacks.
