Senior Bahraini scholar, Sheikh Isa Qassim has rejected any division between Shia and Sunni Muslims warning of Israeli regime as the factor which has split Muslims into two groups with its normalization plan.
The cleric made the comments at Ashura procession 2021 marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
According to the top Shia cleric the Islamic nation is split into two fronts over the normalization with Tel Aviv regime, those supporting and those opposing the US-brokered normalization project.
He stressed that Bahraini regime’s struggle to revive the commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS) and the sacrifice he made, together with his companions and household members, in the Battle of Karbala.
Sheikh Isa Qassim stressed that the Sunni community in Bahrain have no problem with Muharram mourning ceremonies and that any problems or opposition with such ceremonies are inspired by al-Kalifa regime.
Senior cleric noted that the hostile policies of al-Kalifa regime have targeted both the Shia and Sunni Muslims.
