Iranian top cleric from major Islamic unity center and Russian senior mufti met in Moscow to stress cooperation for boosting Islamic unity activities.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Ali Ghazi Asgar, director of the Supreme Council at Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with Damir Mukhetdinov, acting chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia to highlight importance of mutual cooperation to promote Islamic solidarity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian cleric referred to the positive views of the Supreme Leader and Iran’s President over expansion of ties with Russia since they consider that a key strategy.
In this meeting held at the headquarter of the RBMRF in the Russian capital Moscow, Damir Mukhetdinov stressed fraternal ties between the Shia and Sunnni Muslims in Russia and said to build strong ties among all Muslims is a key objective of the council.
He highlighted the endeavors of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for promotion of Islamic unity and expressed hope for expansion of mutual cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
