Saudi government has decided to reject Hajj pilgrims who have received Chinese COVID vaccine Sinopharm.
Saudi officials have announced only pilgrims who have received one of the vaccines Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca or Johnson & Johnson will be admitted to Umrah Hajj or the minor Hajj, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Saudi authorities have stressed in their latest announcement that pilgrims who intend to perform Hajj Umrah 2021 should receive one of the approved vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
Saudi Arabia had previously announced that the pilgrims should submit their certificates showing they have received two dozes from one of the above vaccines.
It demanded the pilgrims who have already received their first doze of Sinopharm vaccine to receive one of the four vaccines named above for their second doze.
A negative PCR test result conducted 72 hours ahead of their arrival is also required.
Saudi Arabia has imposed serious restrictions on the number of Hajj pilgrims and conditions for admitting the Hajj pilgrims in the past two years due to the circumstances created by COVID-19.
